Synopsis
During the 1972 Munich Olympics, an American sports crew is forced to cover a hostage crisis involving Israeli athletes. Everyone is believable, the acting is funny in all the right places, and the pacing and running time doesn’t allow you to peek at them. I’m really interested in getting out before the loan. They did a great job of not telegraphing the plot points. Some might find it annoying not to change scenes, but I think it worked here. I think they wanted you to feel like the control room was your world and feel like you were on this eventful day. They hit the political and emotional points well. Thought-provoking without preaching. Mixing in footage of the actual event, including broadcast footage, will definitely draw you into the experience even more. A nice touch. It’s not a film I plan on watching over and over again, but it’s a very well-made piece that I would recommend to friends who enjoy this type of film.
