Synopsis
Nate Busco has spent 12 of his 17 years on the run from his past
Tired of being bounced from foster home to foster home, he now lives in his car, eats corn husks for dinner, and uses his gym workouts to shower.
Alone, he is haunted by fragments of traumatic memories from his past
When night falls, he couldn’t be more different from the confident, arrogant persona at school.
Enter Stan Dean, a popular high school drama teacher struggling with his own problems
He sees Nate’s hidden talent and need for attention and guidance that no other teacher has seen, and wants to help.
But in a shocking turn of events, Nate is arrested in the middle of school and taken away in handcuffs
Stan follows Nate to the police station and not only negotiates bail, but also agrees to take Nate into his home, despite the raised eyebrows he receives from his fellow teachers.
Stan is willing to do whatever it takes to help his disruptive student
But the question is: can you really help someone if they aren’t willing to help themselves?
